Utilizing thumbnails that were saved on my computer from an old backup of Rantlister, I’ve rebuilt “The List”. This version of The List is a compilation of all the various sites that were featured on the site from 2007 through 2012.
Like I said in my last post, 95% of the sites are dead. So we went scrounging through the Internet Archive to dig up their corpses. For most of the sites on The List, the images will take you to archived versions. We tried to find the best possible versions for most of them, but the Internet Archive doesn’t always get everything, so some of the sites might not look their best, and not every article will be viewable. I guess it’s better than nothing though. Shout-out to Sarah for helping me commit digital necrophilia.
For the small handful of sites that are still online (*cough*like mine*cough*), I’ve simply linked to them as-is.
Sadly, we weren’t able to find copies of every site. In particular, sites that were hosted on Blogspot didn’t seem to be archived before 2014. I think we managed to get just one Blogspot site, and the earliest copy was 2013. I’m not sure why this is, but unfortunately it looks like those sites might be lost forever.
Other sites were also excluded from the Internet Archive by their owners, so no copies of those either. A couple sites did have archived copies, but none of the links worked, so I saw no point in including those. There was also one site that I couldn’t identify from the thumbnail, and didn’t appear on any archived copy of Rantlister. If anyone knows what “No Pants” was, please let us know so we can include it.
Any site that doesn’t have an archived copy has been listed separately under “Cemetery”. If you’re the owner of one of these sites and would like us to republish any of your old articles here on the new Rantlister, or just want to contribute memories or whatever, send us an email at [email protected]. I’ll list the site names below on the off-chance this post gets picked up by Google and the authors search themselves out:
