Can somebody explain to me why people think it’s perfectly acceptable to walk around in public with their phones on speaker? Seriously, when did this become a thing? And why the fuck does everybody else have to listen to your conversation?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in a store and heard somebody talking on their phone from halfway across the building. I can hear every damn word they’re saying, and whoever they’re talking to is usually just as loud. People have no problem putting all their personal business out there for everybody to hear I guess.
But God forbid you say something to them about it. Then all of a sudden you’re the one who’s being rude, and they’re telling you to mind your own business.
Bitch, YOU MADE IT MY BUSINESS! You’re the one broadcasting your whole fucking conversation to everybody in the store! I didn’t ask to hear about your boyfriend cheating on you or why your baby daddy isn’t paying child support. But here I am, trying to buy some groceries while you’re telling the whole damn store about it.
And why do these people put their phones on speaker and then hold them right up to their faces? You’re practically kissing the fucking thing. Just turn the speaker off and put it against your ear like a normal person. What the fuck is the point of using speakerphone if you’re going to hold it two inches from your mouth?
It’s even worse when people do this shit in their cars.
The other day, somebody parked outside our house and sat there talking on their phone for 25 FUCKING MINUTES in Spanish. It was a nice day outside, so we had the windows open. I ended up having to shut them because I didn’t want to sit there listening to some ignorant piece of shit’s loud ass phone call for half an hour. No, that’s okay. The whole fucking neighborhood will just sit here and listen to your conversation. Don’t mind us. It’s not like anybody wants to enjoy some peace and quiet in their own home or anything.
These people know everybody can hear them. How could they not? Their phones are literally screaming. They just don’t give a shit about anybody around them.
I don’t care who you’re talking to or what you’re talking about. That’s your business. So keep it that way! Get yourself some headphones, hold the phone to your ear, or wait until you get home. Nobody else wants to hear your shit.
I swear, we should be allowed to smack the phones right out of these people’s hands. Maybe then they’d learn some fucking manners.
