God damn I’m going to buy a Mac.
Since I am in college for Computer Sciences I get to play around with several different operating systems and have noticed one very fucked up thing – Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 does not work right on Windows 7. That’s right; they’re own products are incompatible with one another.
We use Blackboard to do online and hybrid classes, and we can no longer submit files through IE8 on the Windows 7 computers – we have to use Mozilla Firefox. What’s up with that? And even this site; I modified it to look right in Internet Explorer and Firefox. But at school on the Windows 7 computers, the header is centered but the tables are all aligned to the left. I come back home and look at it in IE8 on Windows XP and WALA; Rantlister.com looks like it’s supposed to.
You would think after the massive failure Vista was Microsoft would get a fucking clue, but apparently not. Make sure your programs will work together before trying to force PC users to do all these worthless upgrades. It’s one thing to have to go in and disable a bunch of security features to get your pre-Vista programs to run right, but its a whole other ball of wax when factory programs won’t work right together. And here I was ready to do a “the Mac commercials are stupid” rant.
Fucking Microsoft.
